1st Down

Tonight was the first Flag Football game for which we all signed up a while back. Each apartment building has a team. We are the Spartans. Go Spartans.

Anyway, there must be at least 4 girls on the team in order for the team to play. So we played. The boys drove over to the field, but we walked. We're tough like that. We walked in our recognizable chain, and said "hi" to everyone we saw. Apparently I have the "hello" voice of a 12 year old. I'm 12 at heart, you know.

So we played, and Zahra did homework on the sidelines. We got lost on the way there. Adrienne ran over to us and said, "we have a minute and a half, and if you're not on that field over there, we lose!" So we ran. Very fast. I was a "rusher", which means that I chased the person with the ball. My accomplishments included:
*tackeling 2 people (pulling the flag)
*blocking the tough girl on the other team successfully once
*getting knocked down completely
Valene pulled someone's flag too, and she & Julie ganged up and blocked awesomely.

One guy suggested that we all (the 3 of us) flash the other team at the same time. Valene loudly objected. We are not like that. Thank you very much.

Zahra seems to have made good friends with a couple of guys on the sidelines. Hmmm. They live in the next building. They admitted to being the ones who always "share their music", and offered to take requests.

The other team told us we were the best football players they had ever seen. I had to agree. On the way home we were in a chain in the middle of the street. We didn't notice the cars behind us until there were about 3 of them, and the leader started honking. Honk honk. Then we moved, out of fear for our young lives.
